Leaving QuickBooks
What moves, what changes, and what we do for you. Told honestly, because the first month after a switch is where trust is won or lost.
What moves
- Your chart of accounts, customers, suppliers and items.
- Opening balances, and as much transaction history as your file holds — every invoice, bill, payment and journal, with its original number kept as a reference.
- Your reports: trial balance and profit and loss are tied to the QuickBooks figures, period by period, before you sign off.
What changes
- Words. "Receive payment" becomes money in; the screens are arranged for a bookkeeper, not an accountant.
- Bank statements are imported, not fed automatically. For Kenyan banks that is usually what you were doing anyway.
- M-Pesa receipts arrive by themselves and are matched to the payer.
- One company or many: each company keeps its own books; the owner gets one view across all of them.
What we do for you
- Assess your files and tell you, in writing, what will and will not move.
- Move the data, tie the figures, and show you the tie before anything goes live.
- Train the people who will use it, on their own data.
- Keep your QuickBooks exports in a sealed archive you can open at any time.
Data import is quoted as a service on your actual files. See the pricing shape.
